Taliesin West is a residence and architectural studio created by Frank Lloyd Wright in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States. Inspired by his original Taliesin studio in Spring Green, it served as Wright’s winter home and workplace from 1937 until his passing in 1959. Today, the site functions as the main headquarters of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, which organizes tours and various events. Taliesin West is officially recognized as both a National Historic Landmark and a World Heritage Site.
Booked a self guided audio tour. Was skeptical at first but the audio tour was very well recorded and executed. Because it’s your own device you can pace it however you like. I found it on par if not better than a real person tour. There are knowledgeable staff to answer questions whenever needed. Must have a tour purchase to visit the camp, so make sure to book ahead!
Place is cool and educational. Highly recommended for anybody has an interest in Wright’s work or architecture.

This 125-foot tower comes from a design created by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1957 for a new Arizona State Capitol in Papago Park. His plan, called “The Oasis,” included glass canopy structures and tall, elegant spires on each of the three wings. However, Arizona rejected the design at the time because it was considered too modern, and it remained unbuilt for many years. In 2004, a shopping center in Scottsdale decided to use part of Wright’s idea as a centerpiece. With help from his apprentice Arnold Roy, they brought the tower design to life and built it at the corner of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Scottsdale Road.
This is a free event. It is open 24 hours. What a beautiful place! If you love Frank Lloyd Wright as much as I do then you will love this stop! Beautiful!!
