The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) is an AAM-accredited, internationally recognized institution committed to creativity, collaboration, experimentation and exchange. SMoCA fosters meaningful connections across diverse communities by cultivating an inclusive space for conversation, curiosity, and shared understanding. Designed by award-winning architect Will Bruder, SMoCA’s minimalist building (a renovation of a former movie theater) has five galleries for showcasing changing exhibitions and works from the Museum’s growing permanent collection of art by local, national, and international artists.

I visited SMoCA last month for a modern art exhibit. Walking through the gallery, I was inspired by bold colors and new perspectives. It’s always refreshing to see how artists challenge norms.
